Lieutenant Nirjon, who was stationed at Ramu Cantonment in Cox’s Bazar, was part of a team responding to intelligence reports about a robbery in Purba Maizpara village of Dulahazra union. At approximately 4:00 AM, as the army patrol approached, a group of seven to eight robbers attempted to flee. Lt Nirjon pursued them but was attacked and fatally stabbed in the neck by the robbers, leading to severe blood loss.
Despite being swiftly transported to Malumghat Memorial Hospital, Lt Nirjon succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by the attending doctor. Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police Md Rahmat Ullah confirmed the incident, emphasizing the bravery and dedication of Lt Nirjon in the line of duty.
Originally from Tangail, Lt Nirjon was an alumnus of Pabna Cadet College and had been commissioned into the Army Service Corps (ASC) from Bangladesh Military Academy on June 8, 2022. His untimely death marks a significant loss for the Bangladesh Army and his community.
