Renowned Bangladeshi singer and composer Naquib Khan made a triumphant return to the stage, reuniting with his former band Souls after nearly four decades. The reunion took place at the “Gaane Gaane Bangladesh” concert held in London, marking a significant moment in the country’s music scene.

The concert, organized to raise funds for flood victims in Bangladesh, saw Khan performing alongside his old bandmates, rekindling memories for fans and fellow musicians alike. “I’ve done many shows with Souls’ artistes and other musicians in Bangladesh, but performing overseas with my old band after four decades was truly something special,” Khan reflected on the experience.

Souls’ vocalist Partha Barua and other band members expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to share the stage with Khan once again. The reunion performance demonstrated that the bond between Khan and Souls remains strong, despite the passage of time.

Khan’s musical journey began in the 1970s with Souls, where he composed several timeless classics including “Mon Shudhu Mon Chuachey” and “Tore Putuler Moto Kore.” His soulful voice and compositions won over audiences, establishing him as a prominent figure in Bangladesh’s music industry.

After leaving Souls due to a move from Chattogram to Dhaka, Khan founded a new band called Renaissance in 1985. He continues to perform with Renaissance to this day, maintaining his passion for music throughout his career.

The “Gaane Gaane Bangladesh” concert not only showcased Khan’s enduring talent but also featured performances by other notable artists such as Palash, Atik Hasan, Abanti Sithi, Amith, Ina Khan, and Farzana Bithi, along with several young performers.

This reunion performance serves as a testament to Khan’s lasting impact on Bangladesh’s music scene and his ability to bridge generations through his artistry.
