This comes before he joins Bangladesh’s national team for their tour of India. Despite being named in a murder case in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play.
Shakib is among 147 individuals named in a First Information Report (FIR) related to a murder during protests in Bangladesh. At the time of the incident, Shakib was playing in the Global T20 Canada. The BCB has allowed him to continue playing, emphasizing that the investigation is in its early stages. BCB President Faruque Ahmed stated, “He will continue playing. We received a legal notice regarding bringing him back, and we replied to them saying this.”
Bangladesh’s Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs adviser, Asif Nazrul, expressed confidence that Shakib would not be arrested, noting, “Filing a case does not mean an arrest. I hope Shakib will not be arrested.”
