Apple has unveiled the iPhone 16, the company’s first smartphone designed specifically for generative AI. The new models, available starting September 20, 2024, feature the powerful A18 chip, which is up to 30% faster than the previous generation, and enhanced camera technology, including a 48-megapixel camera and ultrawide camera.
The iPhone 16 will start at $799 for the 6.1-inch screen model, while the iPhone 16 Plus, with a 6.7-inch screen, will be priced at $899. Both models come with 128 gigabytes of memory.
A key feature of the iPhone 16 is Apple Intelligence, a set of AI-powered tools integrated into the upcoming iOS 18 software release. These features include an enhanced Siri integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, text rewriting and summarization tools, and the Image Playground app for creating generative-AI images. Apple Intelligence also enables users to create custom emoji using text prompts and summarize email messages. Beta features of Apple Intelligence will be available in a software update in October.

In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple announced several other products at its fall event:
