The arrest was made during a late-night operation in Pallabi. Blade Babu, an alleged local gangster, was fatally stabbed on January 20 near Bangabandhu College in Mirpur Section-12. The attack reportedly stemmed from disputes over territorial dominance and prior enmity. Despite being rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to Kurmitola General Hospital, Babu succumbed to his injuries.
The victim’s wife, Rabeya Akter Mim, filed a murder case at Pallabi Police Station on January 21. Utilizing CCTV footage and technological tools, detectives swiftly identified and apprehended suspects involved in the attack. Prior to Rabbi’s arrest, two other suspects, Tufan and Murad, were detained earlier in the investigation. With Rabbi now in custody, three individuals connected to the murder have been arrested.

While several suspects fled the scene upon noticing police presence, Sagar and Roni were apprehended with knives in their possession.
