A major cybercrime investigation has uncovered the perpetrators behind the data breach affecting Atif Aslam’s upcoming concert in Dhaka. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Arif Arman (30) for his involvement in the cyber attack on the Ticket Tomorrow platform that compromised sensitive customer information.
The breach, which occurred on October 23, exposed personal data including names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers of ticket holders for the “Magical Night 2.0” concert scheduled for November 29, 2024, at Bangladesh Army Stadium.
CID’s Cyber Intelligence and Risk Team has revealed that Adventure Global Limited and its sister concern Tickify were fully involved in orchestrating the attack. The investigation found that the breach was a retaliatory action aimed at damaging the reputation of Triple Time Communications and Ticket Tomorrow.
Mozammel Haque Joni, Chairman of Adventure Global Limited, and Abdullah Al Mamun, CTO of Tickify, have admitted to their involvement in the scheme during a phone conversation with Triple Time Communications. Both individuals are currently in the United Arab Emirates, and authorities are working to expedite their return to Bangladesh.
The perpetrators used a fake Facebook account under the name “Fardeen Ahmed CSE” to publicize the breach. In his confession, Arif Arman identified Mozammel Haque Joni as his brother-in-law and detailed the entire operation.
“We are extremely grateful to CID for their swift action in resolving this sensitive matter and providing us with their utmost cooperation,” stated law enforcement officials.
The CID suspects that other partners and employees of Adventure Global Limited and Tickify may also be involved in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working to bring all suspects to justice promptly.
The concert, featuring Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, remains scheduled for November 29 at the Bangladesh Army Stadium, with enhanced security measures in place to prevent any further incidents.
